The Virolahti Bunker Museum started its operation in 1980 and it displays objects on military history.

The museum was established by the municipality of Virolahti and local veteran organizations. It is administered by the Virolahti municipality.

The permanent exhibition of the museum is located inside a wooden building built to resemble the style of the war period in Finland. Fortification sites may be visited outdoors on the extensive museum grounds. The tours are guided.
